We've got lots to catch up on so I'll just jump into it. First, we are very happy to announce that our new album "The Lonesome Dirge" will be available March 28th. Pick one up at one of our shows or online and tell us what you think. The response so far has been outstanding, and we are super excited about the next few months. You can check out some of the songs on our myspace page, www.mypsace.com/rodneyparker. Also, be sure to make it out to the CD release party on the 28th at the Granada. It's going to be insane.

We also have a West Coast tour in March supporting the new record that's taking us to Seattle and back with our friends Thrift Store Cowboys and One Wolf. Make sure to catch one of these shows and pick up a copy before anyone else can. Finally, we are proud to announce that the pesos are now represented by Austin Universal Entertainment. AUE is the most well respected and experienced agency in this genre and we couldn't be more thrilled to have them on our side.

So, lots of cool things happening around here. We are about to be very busy... see you at the show, Rodney

Guys...Gals.....

Thanks so much to everybody who made it out to see us in Kansas, Missouri, and Arkansas this past weekend. We had a great time, met a lot of cool people, and got to see some old friends too. When it was all said and done it was a fantastic trip and we'll definitely be back very soon.

Also, folks around the metroplex be sure to check out this weekend. We are playing two brand new venues, Lakewood Bar and Grill in Dallas and MacHenry's in Fort Worth. Don't miss out, both of these shows will be a good time, I promise.

Think that's it for now, check back for more dates in September. We'll post them as soon as they firm up.

See you at the show,
Rodney

Hey Folks,

Before we get too far into the news I want to make sure everyone is coming out to Fry Street in Denton this Saturday. We are playing with a really cool lineup that includes The Derailers and Charlie Robison. The show kicks off at 2pm, don't miss out.

Lubbock last weekend was amazing, we had so much fun. Special thanks to Thrift Store Cowboys for having us out and to One Wolf for starting the show off right. And to everybody who came out to see us, we appreciate it. We would also like to thank everyone who made it out to Bandera and braved the bad weather for the Best in Texas music festival. It was a crazy weekend but it all came together and in the end it was great. We saw a lot of really great bands, hung out with some old friends, and it didn't rain during our set.

One last thing, go check out Revolution FM out of Kerrville, you can listen online. This is one of the coolest stations in Texas and were instrumental in making the festival go so smoothly. They were also super nice to us pesos and even had me play some tunes on the air. Give 'em a call and request something off Blow the Soot Out.

Ok, think that covers it for now.

See you at the show,

Rodney

Hey folks,

It's been a while, I'm not sure where to start. First, thanks to everybody who came out to see us on New Year's Eve. I can't remember the last time we had that much fun at a show, and it was all thanks to you guys. Also, thanks to those who came to the Granada. That's one of our favorite places to play, it's always a fantastic time and last time was no exception. We debuted a couple of new songs at these shows too, and the reception was great. Which reminds me.....
We are getting closer with the new record. If this thing turns out like I think it will, it's going to be something really special, so bear with us. We are getting it done as quickly as we can. We'll keep you updated with news as it comes in.

Let's see....we are planning a pretty sizeable tour this spring that will take us to some new markets and back to some we haven't been to in a while. So Kansas and Missouri people get ready, it's been too long - we miss you guys. Ok, I think that does it for now. You guys be good.

see you at the show,

Rodney

Folks,

Ok, we've got a lot to catch up on. First, the European tour was great. We met a lot of great people, sold a lot of merch, made a lot of new fans, and saw some pretty amazing sights. We played every night except one, so the whole thing was kind of a blur, but the experience was unforgettable and we will probably do it again next year. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us while we were across the pond (especially Eddie), you were great.

We are still making the demos for the new record, and they are coming along great. All of us pesos are really hyped about the new tunes, and can't wait to get in the studio this fall. We'll keep you informed of the progress.

We'll be announcing the date for the live recording within the next few weeks, so stay tuned.

Go to myspace.com/rodneyparker to view our myspace page. Let's be friends.

Alright, I think that covers it for now. You guys take care.

see you at the show,

Rodney

Hey guys and gals,

Well, as some of you already know it is fast approaching time for us to head out for our European tour. We leave DFW August 2nd, and our first show is on the 3rd. Things have been kind of crazy around here trying to get ready for it, but we somehow managed to get our ducks in a row and unless I am forgetting something big, we are ready to go. That said, you can expect a full schedule when we get back and things settle down. We are all itching to get back on the road, and are more excited than ever to play the new tunes.

The new record is coming along fine. We're still demo-ing the tunes, but should hit the studio late summer/early fall. Shortly after that we plan to put out a live record, so keep checking the schedule to find out when the taping is, you won't want to miss that one.

I think that covers it for now. You guys take care.

see you at the show,
Rodney

Hey folks,

We've got lots of news to report to you guys, so I'll just get to it. First, the pesos just got back from string of shows that took us all the way to Minneapolis and back. The shows were really great, and we had an amazing time. Thanks to everyone who came out to see us along the way. We'll be putting up pictures from the tour on the message board soon, go look at 'em.

Also, we are currently recording a new record! Look for a late summer street date. This record will have some live tracks on it, so be prepared to come to the taping sometime this summer. We'll post the exact date when we know it.

Finally, we are very excited to announce that we are packing up and heading to Europe. That's right, the pesos have shows on the books in Holland and Belgium for the first two weeks of August. Blow the Soot Out has always done really well over there, and all signs point to the tour being very successful.

That's it for now.

See you at the show,
Rodney

Guys and Gals,

As a lot of you already know the pesos are going through a lineup change. Adrian Hulet, who played drums for 50 Peso Reward for about a year, has gone on to front his own band called oso closo. Adrian is easily one of the best musicians and best guys I know, and although he will be missed I believe he is destined for rock-stardom with oso closo. Go check 'em out, they are phenomenal.

That said, 50 Peso Reward has a new drummer! Aaron's first show was New Year's Eve, and it went amazingly well. Look for a completely re-worked set by February, with new covers and brand new originals.

Thanks to everyone who came out to the Granada, especially you guys from College Station. We had a blast. Also, thanks to everyone who was in Lubbock with us on New Year's Eve, especially the Thrift Store Cowboys. That was the best show ever.

Don't forget to call your local radio stations and request our tunes. Don't forget to post on the message board. Don't forget to join the street team. Thanks.

see you at the show,
Rodney

Hello,

Folks, just wanted to fill you in on some cool stuff coming up soon. First, we've been confirmed to open for Reckless Kelly at the Granada Theater in Dallas on December 29. We are super excited about this show, don't miss it. We are also playing New Year's Eve in Lubbock with our favorite band, the Thrift Store Cowboys. This one will be completely out of control. Come see Zach make us proud. There have been some rumors about some new tunes and maybe a live record. We'll see.

We are still auditioning drummers, anyone interested should contact us. I think that's it.

See you at the show,
Rodney

Howdy Howdy

The Pesos are looking for some motivated, outgoing folks to help spread the word about the band. If you would be interested in joining our street team, and helping promote upcoming shows and events, read on.

We are mainly looking for folks who live in areas where we play, a few that come to mind... Denton, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Amarillo, Lubbock, Austin, Houston, College Station, Norman, OKC, Tulsa, Wichita, KS, Kansas City, Lawrence, KS...

Here's what you do... email your name, mailing address, and any other information that might be relevent to brooks2@kenran.com, not somewhere in the email that you want to join the peso street team. The next time we have a date scheduled in your area, I will send you a package containing flyers, posters, stickers, cds, maybe other fun stuff. When you get the package, you take the materials and use them to get the word out. Then we get to town, and have an awesome show. Everybody has a great time, and it is all thanks to you.

This is a great chance for you to support independent music and actually make a difference.

Have a good time all the time,

Brooks Jr.

Our shows this weekend in Houston and Brenham have been cancelled, due to the looming threat of a hurricane.

09 / 15 / 2005

Hey Everybody,
Thanks to everyone who has been calling KHYI over the past few months and requesting our tunes. It's working, The Range is now playing "Drive Away" and "Someplace Else". Also, thanks to everyone who listened to the Front Porch Show last Sunday. You can call that show now to request our songs and probably get to hear them.
OK...shows. At the end of the month (september 30th) we are playing Andy's in Denton. If you have never been to one of our hometown shows do your best to make it out to this one. Macon Greyson and joey kendall open, and it's our favorite town to play. Come see what all the fuss is about. We've got Houston and Brenham before that. Both are new towns to us so come out if you can. This means you, college station folks.
Also, we have recently been confirmed to open for Reckless Kelly at the Granada in December. Mark your calendars now, this one will be fun.
That's about it. I have been writing, so look for some new songs in the set soon.
Please post on the message board. Please come watch us play. Please help us find a drummer.

see you at the show,
Rodney

Howdy Folks,

Right off the bat, notice that we have added a new menu item on this page, which links you to our 50 Peso message board. Here you can talk to other peso fans and friends about whatever you want. You can also ask Rodney for love advice. Click on it, register yourself. We will be checking it on a regular basis.

Things have been going great in Pesoland. Staying busy, cd selling well. If you haven't picked one up yet, go get it. It has just been added to the Texas Music display at all of the FYE stores in Texas. And is still available at most Borders, Hastings, Tower, Virgin, and other stores in your area.
We had our first trip to Austin recently, played down there with Bob Schneider, and had a great time. Thanks to the folks who got there early to check it out and to those who picked up a cd. This weekend we will be in El Paso for the first time, and plan on taking Zach accross the border to bond with some of his cousins. After that, we will be in Amarillo on Friday, and Albuquerque on Saturday. Haven't been to either of those places in a while, and look forward to seeing you folks again.
Take a look at the shows page, we have a lot of in store shows at Borders stores over the next couple of months. These shows are free, and the bigger the crowd we get out, the more the stores want to help sell the record. Come to these, it makes a big difference for us.
Best pick show for the month - June 18 at Woody's in Ft. Worth with Randy Rogers. The place is going to be packed out, so get there early. I promise that all of the Pesos will be in full force having a great time. We would love to see you there. Also, June 24 at Andy's in Denton, with our good friends RONDO and Kurt South. This is for Justin's (the best bartender at Andy's) birthday. it is going to be absolute madness.
Continue to call the radio stations and ask to hear songs from our cd. It is making a difference.

Have a good time all the time,
Brooks Jr.

Hi,

I know it has been forever, but here is new news: This website, although it may have seemed to be done for about a month, is pretty much actually done as of today. What this means is that we can update it much more easily now, so it will be a more valuable tool for finding information about where we will be playing, what's going on, etc. There will be other additions in the near future, such as a press page and message board.

Things have been going great since the store release of "Blow the Soot Out" a few weeks ago. I know right now that in most of the areas we play in, you can get the cd at Border's and Hastings. If you are in the Dallas area, they also have it at the Virgin Megastores and at Bill's Records & Tapes. I will have a more detailed list of who is carrying it soon.

We are going to be travelling a ton over the next few months, which will be great. Rodney is supposed to be buying us a new van this week. Those of you who have seen how we are currently travelling know that we need it.

This monday (4/11) we will be playing at Willhoite's in Grapevine with Thriftstore Cowboys and joeykendall. I believe this will be the first chance to get a copy of the new remixed, remastered, beefed up version of their cd "The Great American Desert" I just got my copy yesterday, and it sounds great. Anyway, gotta run, see ya soon.

Brooks Jr.

Howdy Howdy Howdy,

Man, you are looking at a busy dude. We are working around the clock getting everything ready for our record release date, which is March 15. At that point, you will be able to go to any store you like and buy yourself, or your friend, or everyone you know, a copy of "Blow the Soot Out". If your local record store doesn't have it, tell them to get it.

Look for our ads in No Depression Magazine and on Pitchforkmedia.com starting March 1. Also, if you live in the DFW area, you will probably start hearing a lot about "Blow the Soot Out" on The Twister, The Wolf and The Range. If you are in the Dallas Area, call those stations all the time and ask to hear songs from our record. Who knows, they might play it.

Folks in Kansas and New Mexico - long time no see, but there are dates on the books for you guys now. Check out the shows page, and you can figure out what dates you need to mark on your calendar.

Folks in Oklahoma and Arkansas - thanks for making us feel like kings last week. We will definitely be seeing you again soon.

Okay. Check the calendar. Buy the record. Have a good time all the time.
